About Focus Pals

Hi, I’m Mim, the founder of Focus Pals and a passionate supporter of neurodivergent minds.

As someone with lived experience of ADHD and autism, I know how hard it can be to stay on top of things when your brain works a little differently. Whether it's tidying up, replying to emails, starting a uni assignment, or making that dreaded phone call, sometimes you just need someone there with you.

That’s where body doubling comes in. At Focus Pals, we offer gentle, non-judgemental support to help you get started, stay focused, and tick things off, one step at a time.

Why I started Focus Pals

I created Focus Pals after realising how powerful body doubling can be, not just for me, but for so many others who feel stuck, overwhelmed or isolated. I wanted to build a service that was neurodivergent-friendly, trauma-informed, and helpful in day-to-day life. I have firsthand seen the difference body doubling can make with my own AuDHD children and with many clients over the years in other roles.

Who we support

Focus Pals is for anyone who needs a bit of company and accountability to get things done, especially ADHDers, autistic folks, spoonies, students, creatives, and small business owners. If you have an NDIS plan, you may also be able to use your funding with us.

How it works

We offer virtual body doubling sessions that are low-pressure and tailored to your needs. You can work with us on Google Meet, Zoom or via phone — with structure, encouragement, or quiet co-working. You set the pace, and we’re here to support you.

What we believe in

  • Neurodivergent brains are valid and valuable

  • Shame-free, kind support changes lives

  • Everyone deserves help that actually helps

  • Celebrate progress

Whether you’re working, cleaning your room, working on a project, or just trying to start your day, you don’t have to do it alone.

My Experience

Alongside running Focus Pals, I also work have my own business in admin, business support and VA. I contract mostly to an NDIS provider. I’m experienced with invoicing for NDIS plans, using the correct line items, and communicating with plan managers.

I’ve supported a wide range of clients with everything from scheduling and life admin to staying focused on work or study tasks. My lived experience as a neurodivergent person and parent means I understand how much support can help, especially when it's flexible, respectful, and tailored to how your brain works.

With extensive customer service experience, including many years of administrative expertise with over five years of virtual administration/business support/VA, my journey has equipped me with the skills, passion, and insight to make a meaningful impact.

In addition, I am a qualified primary school teacher and undertook my education honours on Tacher understanding Tourette syndrome and strategies to assist students with Tourette’s.
